God is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a note to let you all know that we FINALLY heard from the dr at 7pm tonight! Irelynn’s sweat test for Cystic Fibrosis was NEGATIVE!!! Praise God He is SO GOOD to us!! She is healthy and this is such a huge relief!!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, we greatly appreciate them!
I think it's about time for an update!
I think it's about time for an update! I am sitting here waiting on my diapers to finish in the wash. The girls are watching Barney. What is up with Barney? My girls are completely mesmerized! I remember when I used to make fun of him and called him names LOL of course that was before I had kids.
Irelynn is doing great! She had her 1wk appt Monday before last and Dr. said she was perfect and doing very well. She had lost 9 oz in the hospital but she had gained 10oz and 1/4in in length. She is a strong nurser too and is filling out her newborn size clothes quite well.
Mommy isn't doing as well. Last week we got a call from the Dr. that Irelynn's PKU test results were positive for Cystic Fibrosis. We have an appt. on Monday in Charleston for a sweat test to see if she indeed has it. I started crying when I got off the phone with the nurse and didn't stop until late the next day. This is not good news at all, much less to a mommy who is already struggling with post-partum depression. I am asking everyone and anyone who prays to please do so.
I just want to take a sec to thank all of my wonderful friends irl and online for praying with us and leaving us comforting comments on facebook and myspace! Thank you and I love all of you!!
So to try to cheer up and keep my mind off of this, I went out and bought some new wool yarn and fleece to make some soakers and longies for Irelynn. I had bought some chinese prefolds for her to use until she fits in her Drybees and right now we are using pre-wrap covers....I don't like them much and would rather have a soft wool or fleece soaker. I figured since I can sew somewhat and can crochet rather well, it makes more sense to make them myself. I have already started crocheting a soaker, I think it will be really nice not to mention cute!
I am also trying to be more active on other boards besides scrapbooking. I don't have the mojo this week to design so I will try to pick that back up after Christmas. BeckleyMommies and DiaperSwappers are my favorites. Everyone is awesome and I have enjoyed making some new online friends.
Well I just wanted to post an update. I apologize for a pictureless post, I have to work on getting some new pics off of my camera this evening. Christmas photos of the girls are there waiting to be made into Chrismtas cards!

I just finished a new Christmas kit last night but I need to get it uploaded. I have a couple more things I want to make before Friday. So be looking for some new stuff soon!
I went out yesterday to lunch, Wal-Mart and to my friend Mistey’s house for a minute to pick up some cloth diapers I bought from her for a super great price. They are in amazing condition too, I am so happy to have them! She also gave her a little outfit that is too cute!! I need to take pics when I get it out of the wash. When we got home, Ainsley thought it was hers and tried to put it on LOL. Thanks again Mistey!
Irelynn was really good and slept most of the time. I was pretty tired when I got home though and didn’t do anything else.
Well I did watch the WVU game - Go Mountaineers! And I love Pat White!
My dad took the 2 girls back to walmart with him again today, seems we forgot quite a few things. Oh and he and Emira went to his employers Christmas party last night and she won $50 so she had to go get some Nintendo DS games LOL. I tried to talk her into getting the cooking one that is out - so cool! Not happening LOL. My dad won a flat screen 22”monitor and he is so mad cause he thought it was a TV LOL. He has no use for a monitor and now we are only using laptops so we don’t need it either. I think he is going to talk to his boss and try to get it traded or returned.
I really want to get my house clean and organized now that I am feeling up to it. For the past 2 weeks we have been pushing anything and everything into the school room and now we can’t get in there. So I have to get that organized so we can start back to schooling tomorrow. Oh and while mom and grandma were here they were cooking and had a grease fire on my stove! I thought they had it all cleaned up but the other night I was preheating the oven for pizza and it caught fire! It scared me to death! The smoke was bad and the baby was in the kitchen with me. I had to put out the fire with salt before I could get her out. Thankfully it was only in the bottom of the oven and it didn’t seem to bother the baby. Then Shane came home and tried it again only to have it catch fire again. So I have Shane cleaning the oven this evening, I won’t use it again until I know for sure it is CLEAN and there is no grease. I live in a single wide mobile home and these things go up in flames in no time!
Irelynn does have some jaundice so we have been waiting patiently for the sun so she could lay in it for a bit. Today we were able to lay her on the kitchen table while the sun poured it's warmth in through the kitchen window.
Ainsley is all about kissing her baby sister!
Oh and I wanted to blog-thank my dear friend Susan for the gifts she sent to me for Irelynn! She made this adorable crocheted blanket that is the perfect size for Irelynn! (She also made one for Ainsley when she was born!_ Also some clothes for her and a couple books I have wanted to read. Thanks again Susan!
It's perfect for Irelynn!
Ok back to work for me while Irelynn sleeps and the girls are out with my dad

Irelynn Has Arrived!
Sorry I haven't posted this sooner, the pain meds I am on are making me nauseas and it's hard to be on the computer.
Irelynn Raine Makaela Painter was born on Friday morning via c-section at 8:29am weighing 6lbs 12oz (exactly the same weight as Ainsley!) and was 19 1/4 in long. She is beautiful and looks almost exactly like Ainsley did at birth. The only difference I can see is that Irelynn doesn't have any eyelashes and she has more hair, and it's brown.
When she was born she did have some amniotic fluid in her lungs and they had to keep her in the nursery under the oxygen hood for the first day. They also had to feed her formula through a tube much to my dismay. Lots of tears shed and scared feelings. This was the hardest part as I couldn't hold her or nurse her and I had to wait until I could get out of bed and walk to get to the nursery to see her. Finally at 2:15am Saturday morning they brought her to me! Praise God! She was fine and starting nursing right away. Both the girls are absolutely in love with her!
We were able to go home on Sunday at 2pm. Baby is fine, mommy is fine but a bit nauseas due to pain meds. I hope to be back up and running after this week, but the rest of the week I am going to rest up, enjoy the company of my family and treasure my little sweetie while she is still so tiny!
